Data and analyses refer to the criminal histories of 1,987 drug offenders, from each offender's first contact with Florida's criminal justice system to their last in early December, 1988.
Abstract
Drug data are detailed for eight categories of drug arrests: (1) possession, (2) sale, (3) smuggling, (4) production, (5) trafficking, (6) delivery and distribution, (7) possession of drug equipment, and (8) other drug arrests. For each of the drug categories, frequency distributions are included for race, sex, age, county of last arrest, total felony arrest events, violent felony arrests, nonviolent felony arrests, arrest for specific crimes, each of the eight available drug arrests classifications, and breakdowns of arrests by year. A set of charts and maps visually summarize the drug profile data. Two appendixes detail an alphabetized listing of offenders by Florida county who have five or more drug arrests (misdemeanor and/or felony) in the State, and a listing of habitual drug offenders who have also been targeted as career criminals. 8 tables and 8 maps.
