In 1986 two terrorist incidents occurred that were cause for concern; one involved drug smugglers and the other a street gang from Chicago offering to commit terrorist acts for a foreign government.
Abstract
A three-man hit team from Colombia, which was directed by drug dealers from that country, entered the United States and murdered Adler Seal, who had been working for the Drug Enforcement Agency. The other incident involved members of el Rukn, a Chicago street gang, who were arrested and charged with conspiring to commit terrorist acts on behalf of Libya. This gang's connection to Louis Farrakhan and The Nation of Islam is significant because Farrakhan openly supports Libya's Quaddafi and has reportedly visited Libya to meet with him. They have also reportedly offered to carry out terrorist operations on Libya's behalf in the United States in return for money. 22 notes.
