This paper describes the security engineering services which include a comprehensive six-stage study of a new multi-million dollar project.
Abstract
This project involves a complex of several high-rise buildings serving communications and media centers, a hotel, a conference center, retail areas, and offices. Included in the study were threat analysis and identification of potential targets, architectural and engineering vulnerability analysis, and damage assessment and consequence analysis. A comparison between various definitions of acceptable risk and the required level of protection (including cost estimates); coordination with active components of the complete security system; and conceptual design for architectural and structural engineering countermeasures are reviewed. 2 tables.
