The use of fiber optic equipment in the field of security is becoming widely accepted.
Abstract
Great strides made in the development of splitters, couplers, multiplexers, switches, and sensors developed to expand the capabilities of the optic cable have made its application in more demand. Other improvements include upgrades that provide systems with noise free video transmission in both black and white and in color, the easing of ground loop problems, and fiber optic equipment that can be used in both indoor and outdoor and short and long distance applications. The system using fiber optics for video transmission also transmits audio for the purpose of monitoring areas under surveillance. Use of combinations of equipment in the field of security can ensure a more secure and efficient operation. (Author abstract modified)
