Abstract
At the Winter Conference, participants were addressed by the President of the American Bar Association and the Attorney General of the United States, both of whom emphasized the need for leadership between lawyers and law enforcement personnel in corrections reform. In addition to conference minutes, the proceedings include other speeches and addresses dealing with community relations, multifamily therapy, integrating theories of retribution and rehabilitation, electronic home monitoring as a method of supervising offenders, and law enforcement staff stress and burnout. Additional speeches focused on the early development of sexual offenders and the administration of death row units. At the ACA 118th Congress of Correction, awards were presented to those making outstanding contributions to the field of corrections. In addition to conference minutes, the proceedings include addresses dealing with education and self awareness as crime deterrents, prison overcrowding, profiles of prison wardens and superintendents, prisoner transfer treaties, parole, alternatives to imprisonment, and assessing programs for juveniles.
