Two fatalities from an overdose of Ethchlorvynol (Placidyl(R)), a nonbarbituate sedative hypnotic, have been reported.
Abstract
Analyses of tissues and body fluids using a flame-ionization detector were conducted by gas chromatography. The procedure was shown to be reliable and reproducible. A presentation of ethchlorvynol body distribution analyzed blood, urine, bile, liver, kidney, eye fluid, and gastric contents. Results were assessed along with other current toxilogical information pertinent to body tissue distribution of drugs.
