This guide presents information and procedures for use by attorneys and other community members in supporting teachers and students in school-based programs in law-related education (LRE).
Abstract
The guidelines explain the goals and rationale of LRE, the value of community support, and the role that the legal community is already playing in schools and communities throughout the United States. Individual sections explain the participants and activities that make up community support, the role of a community resource board in building community support, and issues and resources related to training. The guide includes a model developed in the St. Louis Public Schools with the cooperation and support of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity and others in the legal community. Appendixes listing organizations supporting LRE, sample forms and procedures, recommendations regarding evaluations, and 14 references.
