In a time when prison systems are increasingly overcrowded, community based alternatives to incarceration are needed for the nonviolent offender.
Abstract
Of particular note is the use of specialized treatment and parole for nonviolent mentally retarded offenders. State correctional systems were surveyed to determine what specialized parole services are available for use with the mentally retarded offender. Results of this survey are presented along with recommendations. (Author abstract)
