Abstract
Export controls are discussed in terms of controls related to foreign policy, those related to national security, and those related to shortages. The use of export licenses, controls on destinations of merchandise, civil and criminal enforcement and sanctions, and jurisdiction and extradition issues are outlined. The use of administrative proceedings and the elements of the crime of exporting in violation of the Export Administration Act are also discussed. Transnational movement of arms, munitions, and nuclear material and related technologies are discussed in terms of import controls, export requirements, licensing, violations, and penalties. General prohibitions on trade are also explained. Footnotes.
