Victimology has recently emerged as a scholarly, policy-making, and service-delivery approach that focuses on the unique problems of the victim and of those who surround the victim. The field has grown internationally, with services being provided in several countries. Many of the best contributions in research, prevention, treatment, and public policy concerning victimology are presented in the areas of victimization dynamics and interactions, the victim and the justice system, the child victim, and sexual victimization and offenses. The participants in the Institute represented 15 different countries, including Australia, Canada, Greece, Italy, Norway, Turkey, United Kingdom, and the United States. The victim movement holds great promise as a force for genuine change in society's attitudes and patterns of caring for its members. Appendix and index
