This document analyzes programs in the 1988 Anti-Drug Abuse Act that provide grants to State and local governments, education agencies, and other public and private entities.
Abstract
Sections of this book include overview, including legislative history and funding issues; treatment, rehabilitation and research programs; education and prevention programs; and law enforcement, juvenile services, and related programs. Also included are miscellaneous programs, including drunk driving programs, prevention of drug abuse in public housing, and special programs for Indians, Hawaiians and the territories; and grant requirements, including the new drug-free workplace requirements and denial of Federal benefits for people convicted of drug offenses. Each major program is discussed in a separate article, describing the provisions of the program, and listing its funding level and the name of the Federal official to be contacted for more information on applying for funds. 13 tables.
