This is a national directory of approximately 1,500 programs providing services to those up to 18 years old for the prevention, education, and early intervention of substance abuse.
Abstract
Entries were compiled through a nationwide mail survey of organizations. Nonrespondent entries were verified by telephone. Information was current as of June 1, 1989. Each entry contains the name, address, contact person, and telephone number of the organization, facility, or program. Listings may also include hotline number, date established, affiliations, age/grade served, specialty groups served, addictions/disorders treated, number of clients served in 1987 or 1988, programs/services provided, staff ratio, program materials, referral policies and admission requirements, fees, evaluation performed/effectiveness, ownership, and followup. Program profiles are provided in geographic order by State or territory and then by city. Indexes are provided by the ages and grades of the children served, by addictions and disorders, and by programs and services provided.
