The discussions emphasize that the greatest unmet need in cases involving incest is that of the treatment of perpetrators and focus on practical approaches to behavioral and psychological change. Individual papers focus on the need for a legal, social, and moral partnership to provide treatment; the legal issues from the criminal justice perspective; the aspects of family relationships that affect clinical decisions; and isolation and other clinical concerns. Additional papers examine the special issues related to female and adolescent offenders; provide guidelines for identification and treatment of offenders; and discuss victim safety. Other papers describe an integrated family approach to treatment, explain the protocol and services of a program for military families, and discuss confidentiality issues.
