NCJ Number

Date Published

Annotation
The average daily prison population figures for Florida county detection facilities in October 1989 are collapsed into male and female categories for both juvenile and adult offenders.
Abstract
The figures are also categorized into felony, misdemeanor, and miscellaneous subsections in order to facilitate analysis. The first two subsections present the number of inmates held for trial or sentencing and those detained or sentenced for probation violations in October 1989. The miscellaneous category documents the number of parole violators, State inmates, undocumented alients, inmates held in other jurisdictions, and those detained under the Baker (mental health) and Myers (alcoholism) Acts. The report also includes incarceration rates for each county, the number of overcrowded county detention facilities, and the pretrial inmate levels for each facility. County detention facilities with amended capacities since September 1989 are noted. 4 tables, 6 figures.
