A new Ethics and Criminal Justice course concentrates on familiarizing students with the practical elements of ethics: moral logic, value analysis and clarification, and making and defending moral decisions.
Abstract
The one-credit course was introduced in the fall semester of 1986 at Herkimer County Community College (New York). It included much group work in which students publicly discussed and defended moral choices. The students made definite progress in developing moral concepts, were enthusiastic, and reinforced the instructor's belief that they were genuinely interested in questions of value.
