One table summarizes the number of commitments and recommitments by region and county of commitment for the second half of fiscal year 1989 and for the entire fiscal year, and another table provides background information on youth committed to facilities during fiscal year 1989. Data also cover the sex, race, classification, and age of juveniles by program or facility on the last day of fiscal year 1989. Data are presented for the number admitted, served, released, and discharged as well as the average daily population and average length of stay for all program types and facilities during fiscal year 1989. Other tables address the population movement between various program types and facilities, escapes from facilities and from furlough for the second half and the entire fiscal year 1989, and admission to security units or detention facilities for the second half and the entire fiscal year 1989.
