The South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services (DPPPS) watches offenders under community supervision using proven surveillance techniques, guides these offenders by using individual assessments and referrals, and enforces those offenders' accountability to themselves and society.
Abstract
This annual report includes a profile of the DPPPS board, as well as a directory of key administrators. A short historical perspective is followed by a report from the executive director, that describes the activities of the Office of Legal Services, Office of Executive Programs, Victims Services, Volunteer Services, and Public Information. The Office of the Deputy Executive Director, Division of Paroles and Pardons, Division of Operations/Field Services, and Division of Administrative Services all report on their activities. The section examining probation and parole activity describes laws and policing of DPPPS operations and decision and provides a statistical summary of the characteristics of probationers and parolees under DPPPS supervision during the reporting period. 1 figure, 16 tables, 2 appendixes.
