A series of interrelated experiments were conducted to examine the identification and treatment of rape-related fear and anxiety responses.
Abstract
The subjects studied were approximately 300 rape victims and a comparison group of 200 nonvictims. The results obtained demonstrate that fear and anxiety are significant problems for many rape victims and that fear, anxiety, and avoidance behavior can be acquired through classical conditioning in a rape experience. 10 tables, 35 figures.
