Abstract
Data on trends in juvenile delinquency cases for 1929-34 address the number of cases and juveniles, offenders' sex and age, home conditions, reasons for referral to the court, place of detention, and previous court experience. Trends in dependency-and-neglect cases cover the number of cases, age when referred to the court, parents' marital status, case disposition, and placement. Data on delinquency cases for 1934 present juveniles' age, race, and sex; parent nativity; place of residence when referred; parents' marital status; source and reason for referral to court; previous court experience; place of detention; and case disposition. Data are similar for dependency-and-neglect cases. Tables on Federal juvenile offenders indicate the numbers of offenders brought to the attention of U.S. probation officers, received in jails and held pending trial, discharged from detention, placed on probation, and received under sentence in jails and in Federal institutions. 44 tables.
