The 1989 Annual Report on the progress of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center discusses President Bush's visit to the center and his proposed $1.2 billion anti-crime package.
Abstract
Program initiatives are outlined that include Border Patrol training, development of non-lethal control techniques, seaport security-antiterrorism training, first response training, advanced interviewing programs, new firearms training, and curricula review conferences. Facility enhancements are outlined including renovations at Glynco, major construction at Artesia, and development of the Facilities Master Plan. New initiatives discussed include a Financial Fraud Institute, computer-based training, management conferences and the Explorer Post activities. Finally, the Artesia operations are outlined as well as those at Marana and the current status of State and local training. A listing of the center's member agencies and participating organizations is provided. Eight graphs are provided that illustrate the progress of the center.
