Several theories have been proposed for the classification of sex offenders in general and child molesters in particular. The current research was designed to determine if the MMPI is useful in classifying child molesters, employing cluster analysis methodology.
Abstract
An analysis of 90 child molester MMPI profiles produced eight MMPI cluster types. These eight cluster types appeared to be robust when subjected to discriminate analysis for the purpose of reclassification. Empirically derived descriptions for each of the cluster types are presented. 2 tables, 24 references. (Publisher abstract)
