A list of secure care programs for serious and violent juvenile offenders in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania is presented.
Abstract
Ten programs in Massachusetts are directed to serious and violent juvenile offenders aged 13 to 18. All are referred by the Department of Youth Services. The program treatment descriptions include education, vocational, and counseling approaches; individual and family therapy; and behavior modification. Six programs are referred by the Pennsylvania juvenile court. Program descriptions include values clarification, education, and reality counseling; intensive work with families; and individualized education.
