One law provides funding for AIDS-related services such as home care services; advocacy; needs assessments; assistance in procuring financial, medical, legal, social, and pastoral services; and reimbursement for the cost of azidothymidine and pentamidine. Other laws relate to the use of a power of attorney for health care; nondiscrimination by insurers; health care providers; HIV testing by health care providers; and testing of minors and persons who are incompetent. Further laws relate to AIDS education, the prohibition of employers' use of HIV tests; subsidies for insurance premiums; and the testing of new drugs to treat HIV-related disease.
