This conference focused on security technologies including physical security equipment, approaches to computer security and annunciation systems, business security, and counterterrorism and criminal countermeasures.
Abstract
The conference began with an access control workshop, consisting of a discussion panel of designers, manufacturers, installers, and users of access control equipment. Topics included access control techniques and methodologies; placement and installation of access controls; and applications at airports, industrial facilities, and government sites. Other papers include generic security equipment specifications; system integration and automated command control systems; fiber-optic sensors, systems, and applications in physical security; passive annunciation approach to the design of integrated electronic security systems; effective computer security in a global environment, user interface design for multi-application annunciation system; use of MIS reports to manage inactive employees, references, and uniform return; security systems for high value display cases; scientific approach for responding to bomb threats using bombCAD; and a procedure to integrate protective measures over a range of terrorist and criminal threats.
