NCJ Number

Date Published
1986
Length
17 pages
Annotation
A multidisciplinary, interagency committee was formed in Oregon to enhance existing juvenile sexual offender treatment programs and to facilitate planning and development of a comprehensive statewide response to the problem.
Abstract
The report describes those factors making it difficult to address the issue of juvenile sexual offenders and includes statewide statistics on juvenile sexual offenders, current information on the availability of assessment and treatment services for all regions of the State, procedures for managing a case as it is processed through the various agencies responsible, guidelines for treatment of juvenile sexual offenders that correspond to the severity of the offender's problem, and policy recommended to the legislature and public and private sector agencies working with juvenile sexual offenders. Recommendations address both the treatment needs of the offenders and the professional training needs of caseworkers and agency administrators.
