A summary of recent research on students' alcohol use focuses on areas within the campus that are vulnerable to liability. Guidelines for managing the risk of alcohol consumption on campus and for policy development are also provided. Annotations of the alcohol-related constitutional provisions, laws, and interpretative cases of each State are provided to instruct administrators, students, faculty, and campus organizations in their rights and responsibilities in their own States. The annotation for each State covers the following topics: the definition of a minor for purposes of the alcoholic beverage laws; the purchase, possession, or consumption of alcoholic beverages by a minor; the sale or gift of alcoholic beverages to a minor; misrepresentation of age by a minor to obtain alcoholic beverages; miscellaneous provisions; the sale or gift of alcoholic beverages to an intoxicated person; the definition of an intoxicated person; dramshop liability; social host liability; and other cases of interest.
