The study considered options for reducing inmate populations and for facility expansion and replacement. The county advisory committee concluded that projected demand for facility space should be reduced by implementing new or expanded alternatives to custody. Many of these recommendations have already been actively pursued to improve management of the inmates at the main jail and the DeWitt Minimum Security Facility.
