This report highlights the activities of the Office of Justice Programs during fiscal year 1989.
Abstract
The Office of Justice Program (OJP) guides the policy and promotes coordination among its five major components: the Bureau of Justice Assistance, the Bureau of Justice Statistics, the National Institute of Justice, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, and the Office for Victims of Crime. The purpose of the OJP is to develop, test, and implement innovative programs to improve the administration of justice in the United States. Major areas covered in this report include: war against drugs, white collar crime and public corruption, prison and jail improvements, victims of crimes, families and youth, tracking crime in the U.S., and improved management practices. 9 tables and 1 figure.
