The purpose of this survey was to determine the methods of analysis being used on gunshot residue (GSR) samples in forensic science laboratories across the United States.
Abstract
In addition, the two general techniques for GSR analysis are compared and contrasted. Problems encountered by analysts using scanning electron microscopy/energy-dispersive X-ray analysis (SEM/EDX) are discussed. 4 tables, 3 figures, and a 1988 gunshot residue survey analysis. (Author abstract)
