Catalog of Personal Computer Software Developed Within the Federal Courts

NCJ Number
125832
Date Published
1989
Length
160 pages
Annotation
This catalog was compiled by the Federal Judicial Center to facilitate the sharing of court-developed personal computer software systems in the Federal court community.
Abstract
It is anticipated that the catalog will enable Federal courts to save software development efforts by adopting software that has already been developed by another court office. At a minimum, the catalog should provide a directory that will encourage the exchange of ideas among court software developers and between courts that are considering software development. Information for the catalog was compiled from responses to a computer usage survey sent to all Federal courts in 1988. Brief descriptions were prepared from responding courts and software developers of more than 130 software systems. Each description provides information on the software program, hardware, operating system, software base, and court in which the system can be used. A point of contact for additional information on the software is also provided. The catalog contains indexes by software class, court type, software developer and sponsor court.
