This book is designed to provide information to survivors of sexual assault, to help them understand that they have been victims of a crime, and to help them restore their personal power by respecting each individual's unique style of healing.
Abstract
Each chapter accomplishes a task in the healing process. The first step is for the victim to acknowledge the impact the sexual assault has made on her life. The second step is to make a commitment to heal and to gather one's resources in order to accomplish that. This commitment leads to a necessity for victims to retell their stories and to relive their pain. The fourth step involves making new decisions about the relationships in one's life; the final phase of the process is to let go of the pain and let the wounds heal in a healthy way. 1 appendix.
