The videocassette presents a "Just Say No to Drugs" program, designed as a drug prevention program for elementary age children.
Abstract
Using the base of a story of the development of the full version of a rock video, the program teaches the words to the "Just Say No" song. The program also emphasizes the point that a person is not a "chicken" just because he said no to drug or to anything that does not feel right. The five elementary school children actors are shown by McGruff how to have fun without drugs, how to tell others about their decision to say no, and how to be proud about that decision. The rock video uses Regina and various other television personalities and should catch the attention of school children up through junior high levels. The effects of taking drugs and the effects on crime are also briefly addressed. The videocassette program is a part of the "Take a Bite Out of Crime" program.
