The learning goals of this unit of instruction, designed as a guideline for performance objective-based law enforcement basic training, are for the student to obtain understanding and a working knowledge of the crime of extortion and the crimes of assault and battery, assault with a deadly weapon, mayhem, felonious assault, robbery, kidnapping and false imprisonment, and homicide, as defined in California law.
