Abstract
Topics covered include the TIE concept and its implementation; proposals for prison education and training in prison industries; legislative issues of TIE; Federal Prison Industries; and vocational assessment and the role of vocational programming in correctional institutions. A review of Federal support of TIE is presented as well as the implications of illiteracy regarding education and vocational training of offenders. The mission and organizational structure at the local, regional, and national levels of the Correction Education Association and Correctional Industries Association is defined and application forms for membership are provided.
