At the minimum security Wyoming Honor Farm, corrections managers utilize the concepts of situation-leadership which provide a system for correctional officers and other staff members to approach various problems with appropriate problem-solving skills. The emphasis of the program is on flexible leadership.
Abstract
Staff development and teamwork are stressed. Line staff are responsible for case management, offender treatment, and work skills instruction. Staff teamwork is effective because of adherence to principles including mutual respect, responsibility, communication, cooperation, action, self-government, long-term planning, and marketing.
