In the first article, some of the recent developments n in the field of child sexual abuse are considered. One new direction involves methodological and empirical refinements. These refinements have resulted in more use of the longitudinal approach and in the study of previously neglected areas such as the impact of abuse on boys. The next three articles focus on theory and clinical and empirical research relevant to the impact of child sexual abuse on the female victim's developing sexuality and to the types of victimization that parallel the dynamics of child sexual abuse and posttraumatic stress disorder. The next two articles deal with treatment of child sexual abuse, both the abused and the abusers. The last article attempts to further graduate-level education and training in child sexual abuse because there is presently relatively little formal education and training in this area.
