This 1991 handbook of the Midwestern Association of Forensic Scientists (MAFS) presents the organization's administrative rules; by-laws; code of ethics; membership roster; and the forms for membership, promotion, and reimbursement.
Abstract
One objective of the MAFS is to promote the exchange of ideas and information within the field of forensic science through contacts among professionals in the field. Another objective is to stimulate research and develop new or improve scientific techniques for forensic application. A third objective is to promote the improvement of professional expertise of forensic scientists through education and scientific seminars. Committees include the Research Committee which encourages research and administers MAFS research grants, the Training and Education Committee which determines training needs and recommends training programs to the board, and the Historical Committee which maintains items of ongoing interest to the MAFS.
