It defines the role of the Commission regarding preservation of peace and prevention of crime in a community, upgrading police services, and standards of policing. It lists the administrative staff of the Commission office and police college and their accommodations and provides an organizational chart. Services provided by both municipal police as well as Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are categorized into services provided for cities, towns, and villages. Use of firearms by both municipal and mounted police is detailed. Trends in major crime are presented.
