This directory describes 641 private and public residential community corrections programs based on a national mail survey sponsored by the National Institute of Corrections.
Abstract
These facilities all house adult offenders; have at least 70 percent of their residents placed by Federal, State, or local criminal justice authorities; are operated independently from the detention operation of a jail, prison, or other correctional institution; and allow clients to leave the premises during the day for work, education, or community programs. Profiles of the facilities are presented alphabetically by State and city. Each profile includes the name and address of the facility and the facility director; the name and address of the operating agency, if applicable and available; the bed capacity; the offender types generally excluded from admission; the services regularly available to residents; referral types; and referral sources.
