After defining delinquency and discussing its relativity according to societal contexts, the discussion turns to theories on what causes juvenile delinquency. Topics covered include biological, sociological, and psychological theories; factors influencing the unborn and neonates; the impact of weather on delinquency; parental overindulgence and rebelliousness in youth; the multiple causes of juvenile delinquency; and juvenile delinquency causes and free will. Eight readings on assessment methods focus on the identification of factors that are significant in the treatment of individual juveniles.
