NCJ Number

Date Published
1990
Length
316 pages
Annotation
This annual report publishes statistics on criminal behavior which was recorded by the police of the German state of Niedersachsen in 1989.
Abstract
The statistics cover both completed offenses and punishable attempts, but do not include offenses against the State, traffic offenses, offenses committed outside the territory of West Germany, and offenses against the laws of individual German states. As statistics recorded by the police, the charts also do not include the large number of unreported offenses. In addition to a general synopsis of criminal behavior, the report includes charts and graphs on violent crime, firearm use, and suspects (with special emphasis given to alien suspects). The year's development in specific crime types (such as offenses against life, sexual offenses, robberies, injuries, thefts, and drug offenses) is also reviewed. Numerous statistical charts are appended.
