This annual report presents data on crime and arrests during 1990 as reported by 165 law enforcement agencies throughout the Nebraska Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program.
Abstract
In 1990, a total of 66,198 index offenses were reported or known to law enforcement agencies. The violent crimes of murder, manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery, and felony assault accounted for 7.8 percent of the total index offenses. The property crimes of burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson accounted for 92.2 percent of the total offenses. Larceny-theft, the most frequently reported crime, accounted for 70.3 percent of the total crimes reported. Based on an estimated population figure of 1,578,385, the crime rate per 1,000 population was 41.9 in 1990. The rate was 3.3 per 1,000 population for violent crimes and 38.7 per 1,000 population for property crimes. 12 figures and 37 tables
