The goal of this special issue is to present the state of the art of behavior therapy for child maltreatment and to identify the issues and challenges that await investigation.
Abstract
Empirical investigations reveal behavioral strategies to be among the few that have been demonstrated to be efficacious in treating child victims of maltreatment. The articles included in this special issue discuss the etiology of child maltreatment from a behavioral perspective, the use of behavioral assessment techniques with maltreating families, the impressive gains made in the behavioral treatment of child abuse, behavioral treatment of neglect, and behavioral interventions with child victims of maltreatment. 343 references
