Serial murder has been around for centuries as well as group serial murder; however, the literature review in this article reveals little coverage of this topic. Several cases of group serial murder are examined for the interpersonal dynamics between the killers, the victims, and people investigating the case. The scale and typology of group serial homicide are presented, and the idea is raised that there is a subculture of recreational homicide. The article examines the kinds of relationship that exist between offenders in a particular case, the varying degrees of complicity involved, and the interpersonal dynamics of the initial decision to share in an act of murder.
