Abstract
Information on the general administration of both probation and parole agencies covers separate and combined probation and parole agencies; governmental levels that administer probation and parole; departments of corrections that administer probation and parole; and percentages of probationers, parolees, and prisoners. Data on agency administration, budgets, supervision, services, and programs are presented separately for probation and parole. Data on agency administration address chief administrators and reporting authorities; regional offices operated by probation and parole agencies; number of employees on January 1, 1991; number of officers, supervisors, and support staff; training hours required for officers; hours worked by officers; and overtime and weekend work. Information on budgets covers the cost of operating an agency, average costs per client per day, entry and maximum salaries for officers, vehicles allotted to agencies, and salaries of chief administrators. Data on supervision address such topics as number of clients under supervision, type of supervision, contacts, presentence reports, weapon authorization, urine testing, and supervision charges. Types of services and programs provided are indicated. 26 figures
