This bibliography lists research, policy, and program materials relating to American Indian involvement with the criminal justice system in the United States, Canada, and Greenland.
Abstract
It also includes comparative materials from Australia and Scandinavia and documents on related topics such as health and welfare, drug abuse, jurisdictional issues, and education. The materials relate to status and not-status Indians, Inuit, Metis, and aborigines. The documents include bibliographies, directories, and contemporary studies, mostly published in the 1970's and 1980's. Topics include native organizations, community life, constitutional rights and civil liberties, education, adult offenders, crime patterns, juvenile delinquency, the administration of justice, native police, courts, corrections, customary law, self-government and sovereignty, and Alaskan village justice.
