This report presents statistical data about Missouri's juvenile justice system and juvenile offenders during 1986-90 and describes the system's issues, priorities, and plans for the next 3 years.
Abstract
Priority issues include the overrepresentation of minority youth in the juvenile justice system, the inadequate response to the needs of juvenile status offenders, insufficient prevention programs and community-based services, and the lack of court disposition services. Other needs include training and technical assistance, treatment for adolescent sex offenders, and research and development on several topics.
