Emergency response personnel are not attuned to worrying about their own safety, giving them false security that they are immune to harm from those they help. MEDIC challenges emergency service providers to be proactive and not reactive. The potential danger involved in highway incidents is of primary concern to the law enforcement community, but seldom recognized by responders from other emergency services agencies.
