Standards were formulated for the provision of independent-living services for adolescents under the care of voluntary and public child welfare agencies.
Abstract
These standards provide the framework for the successful planning, delivery, coordination, and development of family, community, and agency resources toward this goal. This developmental need is viewed of equal importance to other needs of adolescents and should receive equal priority in the care of child welfare agencies. Agencies involved provide adoption services as well as services for pregnant adolescents and young parents, daycare, foster families, group homes, residential centers, and health care services. Standards are grouped under headings of coordinated service delivery systems to support independent living, social work process, building skills for independent living, and residential services. The index lists, in alphabetical order, each subject of interest and related categories. Each standard is designated by a number which designates its chapter and numerical order within that chapter. 26 references
