Regarding new directions, the commission has begun the implementation of a structured law reform program outlined in the last annual report. The program, which will extend over 3 years, addresses five main areas: family law, business law, access to justice, government law, and the Australian Capital Territory. After a review of the commission's program structure, objectives, and performance indicators, achievements in 1990-91 that have influenced Federal law are summarized. Some of the achievements relate to personal property securities, censorship procedure, multiculturalism and the law, customs and excise, product liability, sentencing, access to the courts, privacy, and criminal investigation. Achievements for 1990-91 that influence Territory law pertain to privacy, guardianship and management of property, debt recovery and insolvency, occupiers' liability, and the community law reform program. Other achievements reported encourage uniform law and reduce the duplication of the law reform effort. Other sections address administrative matters and expectations for 1991-92.
